I was missing the good old days of traditional snowmobiles. Simple mechanic, bullet proof reliability. Always start in the cold and can go off trail without ripping mother nature. The introduction of the heated carburetor and Flip Up Rails (helps in reverse to prevent sinking in the snow) are welcom...ed nice modern features.

The new VK 540 is not for everyone with no refinement, stinky (smelly) 2strokes, little performance and relatively poor handling. But it's a hard worker, it floats well as is on bottomless off the trail powder. To make it float even more, I installed 11" skins under the skis.

This sled is exactly what an old school like me was looking for.

It's the return of a legend with insured availability of parts for the next 10 years :-)
