Fastest. Snowbike. Ever. (Or So They Claim)

The world of snowmobiles is always seeing new ideas pop up from niche manufacturers. It’s not as wide-open as the Wild West days of the past, when there were many, many manufacturers, but every once in a while, we do see something interesting from a new company… and over the past decade, motorcycle track kits have been one of those ideas that’s really grown in popularity.

For the most part, those track kits have been intended for dirt bikes, and that’s where they’ve been used. But the guys at Grind Hard Plumbing Co. had a much more exciting plan, an idea to harness a lot more horsepower than what’s available from a 450 motocrosser engine. They took a Timbersled track kit and mated it to… a Suzuki Hayabusa!

Now, that might not be terribly exciting if you’re not familiar with the world of motorcycles. But if you know bikes, you know the Hayabusa held respect for years as the world’s most powerful production motorcycle. This 2005 model should have 173 horsepower at the crank. Admittedly, in today’s world of sleds putting out more than 200 hp, those 173 ponies might not be so impressive. But you’ve got to give credit to the guys at Grind Hard Plumbing Co. for having the guts to try doing something this silly with a track kit.
