Upgrade Your Ski-Doo REV 550F

If you have a fan-cooled Ski-Doo REV 550F MXZ and would like to run it in amateur racing events, you might consider looking at Wiseco Piston Company’s latest offerings.

This Ohio-based manufacturer developed a piston set specifically engineered for the 550F Rotax twin. Enjoying a solid reputation borne of 64 years, Wiseco developed its new forged pistons specifically to meet the needs of snocross and cross-country racing. The kit consists of pistons that have a race-proven design and have helped power some of the top teams in snowmobile competitions.

The pistons themselves feature an aerospace alloy that gives them both superior strength for their lighter than stock weight. This is an advantage since less weight means less vibration and quicker response when you get on the throttle. Wiseco’s semi-keystone is claimed to provide a wear resistant face for long life and optimum ring seal. An electra-coated skirt minimizes friction and eliminates scuffing to ensure peak performance. Computerized CNC machining gives the pistons its optimal cam shape and profile for peak horsepower and overall service life.

The Made in the USA piston kit retails for US$347.51 and includes the pistons, piston pin, rings, retainer clips and the necessary gaskets. You can also purchase a single piston, which retails for US$129.95 and includes the piston, pin, rings and retainer clip.
