View Full SpecIt is powered by the Genesis 150FI four-cylinder engine, which provides about eight additional horsepower over the previous model – the Genesis Extreme–to reach an impressive 150hp. The engine’s fuel injection system runs significantly cleaner than most snowmobile engines and reads barometric pressure and ambient temperature instantaneously.
All that power is delivered to a 162-inch mountain-specific track that is 16 inches wide with 2.25-inch lugs. The track features a three-inch pitch to allow more snow to pack between the lugs, making for a firmer grip.
The factory-designed, anti-ratchet drivers are engineered to work with the track and the drive lugs help reduce fatigue-inducing vibration.
The ProMountain rear suspension allows for 14 inches of vertical travel and the traditional torsion spring design was engineered to help the sled get up on a plane in fresh snow.
Up front, the double wishbone front suspension holds KYB gas cell shocks and delivers seven inches of travel.
The Apex MTX features a lightweight magnesium chaincase, which is a pound lighter than the previously-used aluminum chaincase.
The Deltabox II chassis was designed to create a rider-forward position. The handlebars and seated position are located high and forward on the chassis to help the rider go from sitting to standing quickly and easily.
A single-piece, dual-hooked handlebar is standard on the sled and the hooks have the save grip material as the main bar section for consistent control. The center grab strap is readily available when its time for sidehilling.
The sled comes equipped with a new lightweight mountain rack for packing and cinching down your extra gear for the ride. The new rack eliminates the weight of the older composite model.
Like every other Yamaha sled, the APX MTX has electric start and also features reverse to help get it off the trailer.
The digital gauge array displays plenty of data, including barometric measurements, dual trip meters and a clock.
