2017 Arctic Cat M 9000 King Cat Unveiled
Sled features turbocharged four-stroke Yamaha engine
Arctic Cat gives mountain riders more power and more choices for 2017 with the all-new M 9000 King Cat that’s powered by the most powerful production snowmobile motor ever built and sporting the extra refined and durable mountain chassis upgrades that rule the back country.
For riders who want all-mountain supremacy, the new M 9000 is yet another weapon in the Arctic Cat deep snow arsenal.
Built by Yamaha, the new 9000-Series DOHC turbo triple sets the new standard for power, smoothness and reliability, with an intercooled turbo and three injectors that deliver maximum horsepower at any altitude and with no lag. That performance smacks the snow with ultra-quick acceleration thanks to TEAM Rapid II drive clutch and a Rapid Reaction driven clutch that are as consistent and durable as they are quick-reacting.
Putting that power to the snow is a refined ProClimb chassis and Arctic Mountain Suspension (AMS) front suspension that together deliver better side-hilling, reduced drag in the snow and improved handling courtesy of forged spindles, geometry and a 34.5-38.5-in. stance that’s optimized for side-hilling ease.
It’s matched by a Float-Action rear suspension featuring optimized front arm and rail geometry that deliver a premium ride, maximum travel and consistent track tension. Both suspensions provide lightweight, ride-mastered performance of FOX FLOAT 3 EVOL ski and front track shocks, and EVOL R rear track shock.
The mighty King Cat also newfor-2017 features that include narrower running boards, forward foot position and the lowered driveshaft, all of which ease laying the sled over in deep snow as well as side hilling performance. An adjustable mountain handlebar mounts to the laydown-style steering post.
For ultimate deep snow performance, the King Cat comes with the industry-leading 15 x 162 x 3.0-in. Power Claw track. The tapered Pro- Climb-7 skis were designed to keep the tips up when moving through deep snow, further aiding control in the backcountry.
The M 9000 is also graced with the latest Arctic Cat body styling, which offers maximum airflow as well as the ultimate LED headlight system.
