1960s Snowmobile Race Footage [video]

As you anxiously wait for the snow to pile up so you can fire up your sleds, we found a little something to tide you over. Somebody was snooping through some old video reels from the 1960s and came across some race footage from an event in Rudyard, Mich. that he posted on YouTube.

If you ever want to see how far snowmobile technology has come in 45 years just watch this video. The sport was so new back then that the machines differed dramatically. If you look closely you’ll even see a front-drive Bolens in action.

This is some of the best vintage footage we’ve ever seen. We’ll keep our eye out for more and post it here when we find it. Enjoy!
