Vintage Yamaha Snowmobile Jump [video]

Vintage snowmobile fans may not want to read any further. After all, if you’ve got a vintage ride in proper working condition the last thing you’re probably going to do is launch it 12 feet in the air. Of course, a great many of us just like to see people push the limits of what a machine can do and the fact that a 1981 Yamaha sled is getting serious air only adds to the fun.

We really were surprised to see how high this thing got. The jump makers did think ahead and put together a landing ramp. Unfortunately, the feisty Yamaha landed well clear of it. We’re not sure what kind of suspension travel this sled has, but we can only assume it wasn’t designed to handle a landing like this. Check out the video after the jump.
